Mexico
Whether studying the impact of globalization, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the Latin American business world, or looking to combine academic studies with incredible scenery and fascinating sightseeing, Mexico offers a perfect environment.
International trade is not a foreign concept to Mexico, a country which conducts 90% of its trade under free trade agreements with over 40 countries, amongst which the NAFTA agreement is the most significant. Majority of Mexican exports go to the United States and Canada.
Recent administrations have invested heavily in the country’s infrastructure and have opened up the ports, railroads, telecommunications, electricity generation, natural gas distribution and airports to competition.
Reforms such as these have enabled Mexico to modernize while business-friendly policies and a low labor cost structure have attracted high levels of FDI, resulting in a more diversified economy, falling poverty levels and increase in purchasing power per capita.
