United Kingdom

During the 18th and 19th centuries, Britain was the world’s leading economy, yet 100 years later, the economy was in crisis, the country gripped by a series of strikes and shortages. This slow decline was followed by a renaissance in the 1980s which saw the privatization of many companies, including the state monopolies in gas and telecom.

This transformation, combined with Britain’s natural ‘world economic view’ (legacy from the days of the Empire), helped Britain take a leading position in this current era of globalization. While British companies have always been active in investing overseas, these days, Britain is also a happy recipient of investment, second only to the US in terms of FDI inflow.

Britain also boasts a rich history which provides visitors with a wealth of sightseeing opportunities. Despite the rumors, Britain is also home to world-class restaurants and hotels, helping to make the country one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the world.
