The Rundown #9 - 4 Industry-shaping Takeaways

The Rundown- EMBAC

It's our final edition of the year! We’re wrapping up the 2022 ‘Rundown’ series by sharing 4 key takeaways that are shaping the industry based on our recent on-campus discussions with clients and the conversations we had at the EMBAC Conference back in October.

1. Leverage the power of distance learning

We knew ‘online’ was here to stay even in a post-travel restriction world and that’s evident in the stats. 86% of programs utilized ‘distance learning’ in 2022 (a 31% increase from 2019) and 80% of colleges plan to incorporate blended & online learning going forward. Students also agree, 71% say they’d opt for an MBA program with the versatility of both campus-based and online learning.

2. Students, take charge!

Students, particularly EMBA, are having more of a say in their study trips, pushing for their choice of topics and even destinations! Clients told us this involvement from the get-go means more investment in their study program and MBA course itself and even after all’s said and done. Resulting in alumni getting active with recruitment, events, career development and even consulting projects.

3. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is vital

The importance of DEI continues to grow in the world of higher education, in tandem with the increasing number of women enrolling in EMBAs and taking faculty roles. Just as universities are embedding these crucial values into courses, we’re continuing to weave them into trips. Via careful speaker and topic selections, programs should strive to be inclusive with a comprehensive, global perspective.

4. Go green and be sustainable

As the industry welcomes more sustainable approaches to programs, providers like us are offering to incorporate more eco-friendly elements into their trips, broadening their program portfolios while adopting a greener mindset. We know it’s essential to implement these practices into programs to reduce carbon footprints. Even our giveaways are made from eco-friendly, sustainable materials.

With these insights, combined with positive feedback and suggestions from clients, we’ll keep doing our bit to push the industry forward! Feel free to book a brief call to discuss these topics further, or start planning your program, via my Calendly.

Until then, that’s all from us at ‘The Rundown’. It was a pleasure to be your source of inspiration and share industry insights from our side. We’ll pick up again next year, so keep an eye out for the next edition in 2023.

Best regards,
