OUR APPROACH:

Each study trip is fully customized to the academic and budgetary requirements of each traveling group. Our staff are on hand to craft immersive experiences that provide a comprehensive overview of the business climate in each destination.

#1: VARIETY OF COMPANIES AND SPEAKERS

Participants met with several innovative local and international companies including Learn2Grow, AVAST, and STRV. They engaged with a wide range of speakers in leadership and HR specialisms on topics such as how to acquire talent and create a warm company culture, plus why recruitment shouldn’t only be in the hands of HR.

From understanding the complexities of recruitment and cross-cultural management, students were able to step into the speakers’ shoes, challenge their preconceptions and gain a perspective of how HR effects each employee across the spectrum.

“Overall, this trip gave me a more global mindset and [an insight into] how cultural differences can affect challenges faced in the workplace.”

#2: HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES

A notable highlight of the program came during a volunteer exercise at a local school in the heart of the old town. Students met with and taught English to 18-year olds who were preparing for their end-of-year language exams at Malostranske Skoly.

Split into small groups, they discussed topics from American history and literature to Prague’s hidden gems – a fantastic opportunity for both the pupils and the students as future leaders to gain an insight into group management, and how communication can be used effectively in leadership.

“I learned a lot about Prague’s culture, history and politics through the students.”

#3: IMMERSIVE CULTURAL EVENTS

One of the successes of the program lay in the scrupulous balance of academic and cultural events. Students were taken out of the HR-sphere in order to explore how the local culture and history have influenced business practices in the country. Events such as an introduction to the former communist regime in the Czech Republic, a competitive scavenger hunt, and a trip to the mystical castle Karlštejn provided a fun and interactive segue into the Czech way of life.

“Understanding different perspectives, historical backgrounds and ways of life provides a wider lens and causes you to question your assumptions. For HR to be effective at a global level, we must understand the different challenges our employees face based on their location, background, and cultural norms.”
