Kuala Lumpur

2027 FTMBA Cambridge Judge Business School to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

July 4th - July 10th, 2027

A deeply multicultural landscape, the global capital of Islamic finance, a diversified, though dual-speed economy with strong ASEAN ties, Malaysia is home to a burgeoning social enterprise sector as well as powerful government-linked corporations. Opportunities for growth jostle aside a good deal of structural friction embedded in government policy.

Culturally, a blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian and expat communities has given rise to an excellent local food scene and dynamic street life. It is against this rich economic and cultural backdrop that we have shaped the programme around your academic themes, sourcing innovative entrepreneurs, immersive company visits and opportunities for meaningful discussion.

Travelling to Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, skyline, Petronas Towers

This overview highlights key planning considerations, visa requirements, economic information, logistics, cultural experiences, safety considerations and more for travelling in Malaysia. Here, we will cover practical tips based on our expertise to help ensure a smooth and enriching experience.

Our commitment to a greener programme

We’re committed to making practical, more sustainable choices throughout the Cambridge University trip in Kuala Lumpur, from how information is shared to the partners and accommodation we select.

Digital-First
Programme information, itineraries, updates and key travel resources will be available through the Travel Zone app, reducing the need for printed materials and giving participants one digital source for information throughout their stay.

Sustainability-Conscious Hotel Selection
We commit to making sustainability part of our hotel selection. All proposed hotels were assessed on their environmental practices, with EQ Kuala Lumpur ranking strongest overall through its location within the GBI Gold-rated Equatorial Plaza. Grand Hyatt also demonstrates strong operational sustainability practices.

Greener Programme Delivery
Beyond accommodation, we will work with our local partners to omit single-use plastics and prioritise electric or lower-emission group transportation, while continuing to identify practical opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of the programme.

A Tree for Every Speaker

To recognise the people who share their time and expertise with the students, we will plant a tree in honour of each guest speaker as part of this programme. This continues International Study Programs’ established tree-planting initiative, through which more than 2,000 trees have already been planted, creating a lasting and more sustainable way to say thank you.

Why International Study Programs

We bring together a truly global team spanning 20+ nationalities, combining diverse perspectives with extensive experience. 60%+ of our Asia programmes are designed for MBA, EMBA and PMBA cohorts, giving our team a deep understanding of the expectations of advanced business students and faculty travelling in the region.
